What Can I Do Now?

These are deeply troubling times, to be sure.  But there is always something that you can do.  Here is a list of ideas.

1. Smart Donations.  When you decide to donate to candidates for office, you can maximize the impact of your dollars by choosing key races.  Sites like Oath.Vote can tell you which races are close, and how to help progressive candidates.
2. Banking.  Do your business with banks that support your values.  There's a good summary at opensecrets.org, and a more detailed "how-to" at bankrate.com.  
3. Postcard writing.  Groups like Protectors of Equality in Government sponsor post-card writing actions, that reach out with personal messages, to independent votes in key districts.  Contact mipostcardsforpatriots@gmail.com.
4. Protest.  See our state-wide aggregated list of protests.
5. Petitions.  There are many democracy-enhancing (and a few destructive) petitions being circulated right now.  Check them out.
6. Join with others.  Reach out to Democratic organizations in your county.  You're not alone!
